Step 1: Update System

Update your CentOS / Fedora system:

---- Fedora ----
$ sudo dnf -y update

--- CentOS 7 ------
$ sudo yum -y update

Step 2: Install Node.js 12 LTS on CentOS 7 & Fedora 31/30/29

To install Node.js 12.x LTS on CentOS 7 & Fedora 31/30/29, use NodeSource binary distributions.

curl -sL https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_12.x | sudo bash -

The command above will install the NodeSource Node.js 12.x repo. Once the repository has been added, install Node.js 12 LTS.

On CentOS 7:

sudo yum clean all && sudo yum makecache fast
sudo yum install -y gcc-c++ make
sudo yum install -y nodejs

On Fedora 31/30/29:

sudo dnf install -y gcc-c++ make
sudo dnf install -y nodejs

Confirm Node version:

$ node -v
v12.13.0

You have installed Node.js 12 LTS on CentOS 7 & Fedora 31/30/29 Linux system.
